a voice in the ether. a calm, clement drone. a gentle, pulsing throb. like the ghost of a forgotten future as imagined by the distant past, certain creatures sophomore lp nasadiya sukta is a study in timelessness - crystalline, heartfelt ambient music designed to push light through shadow. nasadiya sukta is the debut release on mysteries of the deep, a record label dedicated to total sensory immersion. mysteries (as its known colloquially and affectionately) launched in 2011 after a particularly fruitful late-night mixing session, first as a cult podcast series dedicated to narcotic music of all kinds, subsequently expanding into a series of seasonal events. now, with the release of nasadiya sukta, mysteries of the deep becomes a full-fledged outlet for music to play in the dark. certain creatures is the alias of brooklyn-based artist oliver chapoy, and nasadiya sukta was crafted especially for mysteries of the deep. its genesis came when grant aaron, mysteries proprietor, tapped chapoy to perform at mysteries halloween event in 2015. his performance was the nights axis point, bridging earlier subdued sounds with late-night upbeat moods. two years later, reworked and reconfigured, this performance is reborn as nasadiya sukta. although divided into six tracks, nasadiya coheres into a single extra-terrestrial mass, its beautiful understated elegance encouraging repeat listens. simultaneously harking back to ambient classics from the 90s (you know who they are) while cementing chapoy as a visionary artist with his own unique voice, nasadiya sukta is one for the space travellers indeed.

jungle/breakcore legends deformer are back with another horror infused release: “the living dead deformed”. deformer is known for putting the shock into electronic music and pushing the horror experience to another level. during their shows they cut off limbs and intestines are thrown into the audience while the extreme music turns the crowd into raging freaks. “the living dead deformed” pays hommage to one of the biggest horrorfilm classics of all time: “night of the living dead” (1968) and its creators.
the record was produced before the unfortunate passing of george a. romero. out of respect, deformer chose put out the record as a non-profit, limited edition, numbered by hand, green coloured vinyl release. the amazing cover art is created by legendary visual artist graham humphreys (a nightmare on elm street, the evil dead, poltergeist).

louie vega re-ignites the disco classic “dance (disco heat)” by sylvester grammy awarding winning producer & 5 time grammy nominated louie vega continues to send dance floors into a peak hour frenzy with his remixes of disco classics on nervous records. the inspiration to delve into masters from this era began when he started remixing masters from the sam records catalogue, which is owned by nervous records, and with whom louie has a long history going back to nervous early 90’s origins. louie is that unique producer who has had success in multiple genres of music including house, r&b, & freestyle and he has brought that talent to help re-ignite new york disco classics like vicky d’s -this beat is mine- and convertion’s -let’s do it- featuring leroy burgess, as well as charting topping disco hits from john davis & the monster orchestra -bourgie bourgie- & -up jumped the devil-. this time, louie put his focus on a track outside of the sam records catalogue, and one that was an international disco hit that also crossed over to becoming a 1978 pop hit, namely sylvester / dance (disco heat). using elements from the 1978 version and combining them with his own original musical and percussion contributions, along with new vocal performances from renowned singer cindy mizelle, louie has refashioned and reignited this 39 year-old production into a 2018 club anthem.
